PITTSFIELD BETTER OR WORSE
Group Art show at THE DOT GALLERY
JULY THROUGH SEPTEMBER
OPENING JULY 6TH
PITTSFIELD FIRST FRIDAYS 4:30 TO 7:00
This title implies that feelings about the city are extremely varied to say the least. Some see Pittsfield as a city of opportunity, especially for the arts, with a future bright with artistic development, nurtured by all the thriving cultural venues throughout the area.
Other artists see it as a hopeless location from which they long to escape, but find themselves tied to it by economic necessity, depression, or inertia.
Others have fled from Pittsfield, only to return later, confused but still determined.
Seven artists have been asked to create or display two works each, works that express their feelings about our town.
Artists: Daniel Karp, Chris Addams, Lucie Castaldo, Sara Wallach, Diane Firtell, John Clark, and Richard Britell
Curated by Richard Britell
